about

written by Michael Owcharuk

"Henry Darger's (1892-1973) art was not discovered until after he died. A recluse, possibly mentally ill, he created a multi-media body of work that is estimated to fill a 50,000 page novel. Henry did all this work and didn't show it to anyone. We will never really know why. This piece is a musing on Henry Darger's life. It is made up of poly-tonal melody, chromatic harmony, and features a setting to a great trumpet solo by Jim Knodle."
